-It mainly serves as entertainment and leisure, communication to other people, and for gathering information.

• TECHNOLOGY LITERACY - it is the skill of being able to understand and use technology with responsibility.
• MEDIA LITERACY - it is the skill of being able to understand media as well as use it properly.
• INFORMATION LITERACY - it is the skill of being able to understand information as well as manipulate and and use it.
• MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY - it is the skill of being able to comprehend information with the use of media, understand its uses and be capable of using information and media together with the use of one's intellect with responsibility.

COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS:

1. Information Literacy is dealing with the gathered information only.
2. Information Literacy is only getting the source of information.
3. Information Literacy is the knowledge on getting information.
4. Information Literacy is the ability to determine if the source is reliable or not
5. Information Literacy is the ability to determine whether the information gathered is true or false.
